But as long as there is concern and effort, I am optimistic. As for books ... I like mine alive with a whole sea of thought - annotated, with introductions and notes, articles and comments, those I agree with, and those I do not. Both give me an opportunity to think and reflect; and that forms me as a grain of my own. So, since you're offering, I'll have the red one, please! When the master craftsman described how difficult it is to set the flip-over automaton in perfect motion and how happy it makes him to succeed, I was, in a strange way perhaps, comforted.
